Guide to applying for a TV licence
The following steps are recommended:
1 Collect information
2 Obtain a recommendation, (if a complex site)
3 Apply for a licence
Step 1: Collect Information about TV broadcasts
The following technical information is often needed:

Step 2: Obtain a recommendation from ATN Technical
This step is required only where a city is regarded as COMPLEX.
A complex city is one where
1) The city is large
2) There is more than 1 broadcaster
3) The terrain / topography is not flat – Many hills, valleys, etc.

Step 3: Apply for a licence
Obtain the application form
from the Broadcasting Regulator.

This will depend on the reception area you want to reach. In a small town, flat terrain 1watt will reach 8Km, 2 watts about 16Km. Larger cities may need 40 – 100 watts. |

For what period do you request this licence? | Ask for the longest period possible - e.g. 25 years. |
