RECOMMENDED DISH SIZES TO RECEIVE ATN PROGRAMMING
IN NORTH AMERICA

Adventist Television Network wishes to clearly state recommendations for dish sizes
necessary to receive ATN programming

1. CHURCHES: For any church installing a small dish to receive ATN broadcasts we are recommending a 48 inch (120 cm) dish.

2. HOMES: For any home installing a small dish to receive ATN broadcasts we are recommending a minimum of a 36 inch (90 cm) dish.

3. For northern Canada and Alaska, please check with local satellite dish installers. In these areas at the edge of the satellite footprint, it probably will be necessary to install larger dishes.

Questions & Answers

1. QUESTION: With the small dish system are there any disadvantages in comparison to the large dishes that have been used previously?
ANSWER: Yes. The big dishes receive on C-Band frequencies, the small dishes on Ku band frequencies. When there is a rain or snow storm the Ku band is less stable. In a heavy storm the snow or rain can block the signal if the receiving dish is small. This can be compensated for by using a bigger dish size than necessary. For this reason we are recommending these dish sizes.

2. QUESTION: What is the minimum size that can receive the ATN signal?
ANSWER: In all of the continental USA and most of southern Canada the signal can be received with a 30 inch (76 cm ) dish. However ATN does not recommend these smaller sizes due to the potential problem with weather.

3. QUESTION: Why are you recommending a bigger dish for churches than homes?
ANSWER: We want to insure that churches receive programs. If there is a possible weather problem at the church site when a program is being received, the larger dish will provide additional assurance that the program will be received with no problems.

4. QUESTION: Is it possible to receive other programs on the satellite that ATN uses? ANSWER: Yes! You can receive 3ABN and LLBN and any other free to air satellite channels on AMC 4 that your receiver is programmed to receive.

5. QUESTION: Where can I get more technical information?
ANSWER: Please go the to ATN or AdventistSat web sites: www.Adventist.tv or www.AdventistSat.com
