Can
we install the equipment ourselves?
This question is often asked
by churches who wish to purchase downlink equipment, but do not have
anyone to install it for them. This is often because few people know
how to install such equipment.
ATN believes that the dish
antenna and receiver may be easily installed by any church in most cases.
When the church is in a city, surrounded by tall buildings, special
assistance may be required.
To install the equipment yourself,
we recommend the following steps:
- Make up a small working party from
members who can work with their hands, such as builders, engineers,
plumbers, motor mechanics, electricians, handymen, etc.
- Obtain the ATN Equipment
Installation Manual, which may be downloaded from this website.
- Get the members of the working party
to carefully read this manual, twice if possible.
- Have the working party consider various
positions for the dish antenna and recommend the best one to the
Church Board for approval.
- Obtain the 3 dish antenna settings
which apply to your town or city from your Satellite Co-ordinator,
a local satellite installer, or from Angle
Tables on this web site.
When obtaining the information you will need to provide:
>> The name of the satellite used to broadcast to your area
>> The name of your town
If unable to obtain this information, send an email to Techinfo@adventist.tv
- Pray for wisdom and proceed with the
installation!
NB: ATN encourages each Union
and Conference to keep a list of persons who have been trained to do
installations and set up this equipment. If you need assistance, contact
your Conference or Union Satellite Co-ordinator.
