GUIDE TO UNUSUAL PROBLEMS

Please note that you should first thoroughly check your equipment for all the problems listed in the Common Problems area, before considering any of the unusual problems listed below, as they are extremely rare and may occur in perhaps only 1 out of 100 cases. Get someone else to carefully check through your installation with you before proceeding to this page.

Problem	Possible reasons	Solution
No reception from any stations at all	Reflections from metal surfaces in front of the dish (e.g. roofs) bounce into the dish and cancel out the signals coming in directly.	Move dish where no metal sufaces in front of it.
	Path from dish to satellite passes through High Voltage electricity supply lines, and signals are blocked by the magnetic field	Move dish so that the path does not pass through or near the power lines.
	Bees or wasps made nests in your LNB	Clean out
	Receiver faulty	Swop with receiver known to be working or repair
	Faulty cable or connections to LNB	Replace cable (especially external ones after 5 years) & check connectors
